Home Energy Storage Battery Supplier

DIDIDEDE supplies home energy storage batteries built on LiFePO4 chemistry: solar self-consumption during the day, evening peak shaving, and backup power when the grid drops. LFP is the sensible choice for a battery that cycles every day – it tolerates deep discharge, runs cool, and keeps usable capacity long after a lead-acid bank would have been replaced.

We are a manufacturer rather than a reseller, so the same team that assembles our vehicle packs builds storage packs. That means a 48V storage module can be sized to your inverter instead of to a catalogue page.

Key takeaways

  • Home storage packs are built on LiFePO4 and sized to your inverter rather than to a catalogue page: 48V, wall- or rack-mounted, from a few kilowatt-hours upward.
  • Choose by the job, not the product: a portable power station covers 1-2 kWh of loads with no installer, while a fixed 48V bank scales from about 5 kWh upward and backs up whole circuits including air conditioning and pumps.
  • Four jobs size differently – solar self-consumption (one cycle a day), time-of-use shifting, backup power, and diesel replacement on generator sites.
  • Sizing method: list the loads and their wattage, decide hours of autonomy (4 hours is typical, 8-10 where outages are long), check the inverter’s DC input window and communication protocol (CAN or RS485), and leave headroom.
  • Custom ESS builds start at a 3-unit minimum order quantity, with samples in about two weeks from a confirmed specification.

What we supply for home storage

Portable station or fixed home battery?

The honest answer depends on what you want to keep running. A portable power station needs no installer, moves between rooms or sites, and covers 1-2 kWh of loads – lights, router, laptop, a fridge for a few hours. A fixed 48V pack connects to your inverter, scales from roughly 5 kWh upward, and backs up whole circuits including air conditioning and pumps.

Many buyers start with a portable unit for outages and add a fixed bank later. If you are unsure, send us your load list and we will size both.

What a home battery actually does

Four jobs, and it helps to be clear which one you are buying for, because they size differently:

  • Solar self-consumption – storing the daytime surplus instead of exporting it, then running the house on it after sunset. This is the most common reason to buy and it cycles the battery once a day.
  • Time-of-use shifting – charging when the tariff is cheap and discharging during the expensive window. Needs enough capacity to cover the peak hours, not the whole night.
  • Backup power – keeping selected circuits alive during an outage. The load list matters more than the tariff here.
  • Diesel replacement – for sites running a generator, a battery handles the small loads and lets the generator run fewer, fuller hours.

How to size a home battery

  1. List the loads you want to keep running and their wattage – fridge, lighting, router, water pump, air conditioning.
  2. Decide the hours of autonomy you need: 4 hours is a typical starting point, 8-10 hours for areas with long outages.
  3. Check the inverter: DC input voltage window, charge current and communication protocol (CAN or RS485).
  4. Set a cycle life target. LFP cells in this class are typically rated for several thousand cycles at 80% depth of discharge; a shallower daily cycle extends calendar life.
  5. Leave headroom. Sizing to 100% of today’s load leaves nothing for the next appliance.

The method is the same as for a traction pack — appliance load times hours, then margin: how to size a battery pack covers it, including depth of discharge and charging time.

Safety, certification and shipping

Storage batteries are shipped as dangerous goods class 9 and documented the same way as our vehicle packs:

  • UN38.3 test summary for transport
  • MSDS and safety documentation
  • CE declaration of conformity
  • IEC 62133 for the cells and battery packs
  • BMS protection: over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit and temperature monitoring at cell and pack level

Safe storage does not stop at the warehouse door. Lithium battery storage and charging safety sets out the four zones, the state of charge to hold stock at, and how to handle a damaged or swollen unit.

Custom ESS builds

If you are an installer or distributor, we build storage modules to your specification: voltage, capacity, enclosure format, communication protocol and brand labelling. Minimum order quantity is 3 units for prototype and sample builds, and a sample takes about two weeks from a confirmed spec – see the custom battery pack OEM process.

Frequently asked questions

Can your batteries work with my existing inverter?

Usually, provided the inverter accepts a 48V lithium bank and either open-loop voltage settings or closed-loop CAN / RS485 communication. Send us the inverter model and we will confirm before you order.

How long will a LiFePO4 home battery last?

Several thousand charge cycles at 80% depth of discharge, which for a daily-cycling home system typically means a decade or more of service. Calendar life depends far more on temperature and state of charge than on cycle count.

What is the minimum order for a custom storage pack?

3 units for samples and prototypes. Volume pricing and lead times are quoted per project.

Do you sell cells separately?

Yes – see the Battery Cell range for prismatic, cylindrical and pouch cells, or our battery pack manufacturing capability.
