Matching this pack to your vehicle
74 V nominal means a 20-series build, and the continuous rating is the selection criterion: 75 A at 74 V is roughly 5.5 kW of sustained output, which covers 3-5 kW motors on performance scooters and full-size electric motorcycles. A 100 A pulse handles launch and hard acceleration. Specify against peak motor current, not against capacity – a pack that cannot deliver the peak will trip the BMS on the first hard start.
74 V and 72 V are not the same number
This catches buyers out. 72 V is the lead-acid convention – six 12 V blocks – while a 20-series lithium pack sits at about 74 V nominal and roughly 76 V at full charge. If your controller or charger was specified for a lead-acid system, check its voltage window and component ratings before ordering: a controller rated just above 72 V may not survive 76 V on a full pack. We can match the BMS and charger to your existing spec where the hardware allows it.
Shipping, certification and ordering
At 2296 Wh the pack ships as Class 9 dangerous goods, UN3480, with UN38.3 test reports and MSDS prepared per consignment; air freight is possible for samples but sea is normal for volume. GB 43854-2024 and 3C certification apply, and CAN communication is standard so the pack reports to the vehicle controller. Details on pack design are covered in electric motorcycle battery packs.
Product FAQ
Which vehicles is this 74V battery pack built for?
The pack is built for light electric motorcycles and e-mopeds running a higher-voltage drivetrain, with an operating voltage range of 60 to 85 V.
Can the communication protocol be specified?
Yes. The pack reports over CAN bus, and the communication protocol, connector and housing can be customised to order.
What temperature range does the pack work in?
It charges from -10 to 60 C and discharges from -30 to 65 C, with a 20 A maximum continuous charge current.
